Community Support Specialist

The Glory Hall is seeking a Community Support Specialist. The main focus of this position is to provide compassionate and kind service to all who come through our doors!

The Glory Hall is Juneau’s foremost emergency shelter and our mission is to provide food, shelter, and compassion to those most in need. We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with the desire to treat everyone who walks through the door with the deepest respect, empathy, and compassion.

10pm-6am, 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm

Pay Range

$19 - $23 DOE

Experience working with people who are using substances and those who struggle with mental illness
Experience working with those who are experiencing homelessness

Duties

Maintain a welcoming atmosphere in the shelter. Help to foster and maintain an environment where all people are respected, listened to, and treated with compassion and kindness regardless of their behavior, race, gender, orientation, identity, or disability.

Facilitate secured entry of the facility by making sure that everyone who is in the building has completed the admissions process with staff

Ensure that the building is in good working order, clean, and a positive and respectful environment is maintained

Assist patrons with needs as they arise, such as; help making doctor appointments, applying for benefits or housing, etc.

Coordinate with partner organizations as needed to best provide services to our patrons.
